Biografía

Carmen López Rey (nace en Puente Genil (Córdoba) el 27 de junio de 1973) es una artista visual contemporánea española y profesora de artes.
FORMACIÓN
En su adolescencia comienza estudios de dibujo y escultura en las Escuelas de Arte Mateo Inurria y Dionisio Ortiz de Córdoba. Cursa la carrera de Bellas Artes en la Facultad Alonso Cano de Granada (Pintura y Escultura) y se licencia en 1998 con Matrícula de Honor. Realiza estudios de perfeccionamiento de fundición en bronce, técnicas pictóricas, dibujo del natural y fotografía y obtiene una beca para el I Curso de Escultura en Mármol de Macael (Almería).
Desde 1999 ejerce como profesora de escultura, dibujo y pintura en distintas Escuelas de Arte (Ávila y Écija) e institutos de Andalucía, obteniendo en 2008 la plaza titular definitiva. Actualmente con destino en el IES Luis de Góngora de Córdoba, donde imparte clase en el Bachillerato de Artes de Adultos.
TRAYECTORIA ARTÍSTICA
Licenciada en Artes Plásticas, es pintora y escultora, por la Universidad Alonso Cano de Granada, Cuenta con una larga trayectoria expositiva que arranca en Granada durante sus estudios universitarios y que roza un centenar de exposiciones colectivas e individuales por toda la geografía española e internacional, destacando la realizada recientemente en el Salon d’Art Contenporain Art 3F de París o la realizada en 2012 en el Patio Barroco del Palacio de la Merced de Córdoba que generó, entre otros frutos, la itinerancia de la colección con la Fundación de Artes Plásticas Rafael Botí durante todo el año 2013. Una colección dedicada a Al Ándalus en las referencias patrimoniales de la Mezquita y Madinat Al Zahra. De la que se seleccionó una de las obras “Palabras para entalabartar sueños”, que representa la fachada de Al Hakan II de la Mezquita, para ser la imagen del Patrimonio de Córdoba en el año 2013 en Fitur (Madrid).
En 2018 presenta su colección sobre la cultura Sefardí en el Centro de Visitantes de Córdoba, colección que también se ha llevado a varios puntos de la geografía española.
En 2015, a raíz de una experiencia personal que marcará su vida, crea Colores Para Alegrarte y decora de forma altruista tres hospitales infantiles con el fin de Humanizar la estancia de sus usuarios. Las seis plantas del Infantil Reina Sofía, la USMIJ del Hospital de los Morales y las urgencias infantiles del Hospital de Puente Genil, dirigiendo a más de 400 personas y 20 empresas. Se le otorgó por ello el reconocimiento con la Bandera de Andalucía a la Salud en 2016.
En 2020 y en pleno confinamiento por la pandemia mundial por la Covid-19 comienza otro proyecto altruista, “Héroes con bata”, en el que aúna a otros 49 artistas en un homenaje expositivo multidisciplinar común para los sanitarios de Córdoba. Se desarrolló en el Teatro Cómico Principal con más de 5000 visitas. Obtuvo el apoyo de todos los centros sanitarios públicos y privados de Córdoba y provincia y de varias empresas que colaboraron de forma altruista, además del apoyo institucional del Ayuntamiento de Córdoba y de la Consejería de Cultura y Patrimonio de la Junta de Andalucía con la cesión del espacio. En febrero de 2021 recogió la Bandera de Andalucía a las Artes por el comisariado y la puesta en marcha de este proyecto. Más de 20 años dedicada al estudio del Patrimonio Histórico y Cultural, en la representación pictórica de las raíces artísticas de la Arquitectura, Arte y Culturas Clásica, Árabe y Sefardí, a través de una diversidad muy amplia de técnicas.
En 2019 comienza a estudiar las vidas y los rostros de las grandes mujeres que han cambiado la historia, vidas cruzadas que se unen en una imagen. Rostros y trayectorias que se funde en una sola.
En 2022 presenta la colección denominada Sororidad-Somos una en la que representa a veinticuatro mujeres fundidas en doce dípticos. Inaugurada en el Teatro Cómico Principal de su ciudad natal, Córdoba. En septiembre del mismo año viaja parte de la colección al Salón Internacional d’art Contemporain Art 3f de París, en octubre expone en la Galería Michel Menéndez de Pamplona y en noviembre vuelve a Francia para exponer en Burdeos. Con un amplio reconocimiento internacional, ya que su obra se ha publicado en revistas de arte tan prestigiosas como California Art Magazine, Importan & Cool, Catálogo internacional OCBAl de Brasil o el libro de Arte Español entre otros. Tiene exposiciones permanentes en Artemissa Art Gallery y en 1819 Art Gallery de Madrid. Además es una de las artistas seleccionadas para crear los predecibles de las NFTs en Visions Prediction Card Collection.
En abril de 2023 continua su recorrido por las capitales más importantes de Europa, llevando su serie Sororidad-Somos una a la céntrica calle Friedrichstrße de Berlín. Actualmente está trabajando en una nueva colección que une sus dos pasiones ,el patrimonio monumental histórico artístico y las vidas de aquellas mujeres que han quedado olvidadas por la historia, en este caso las mujeres de Al Ándalus

ARTIST BIOGRAH
Carmen López Rey (born in Puente Genil (Córdoba) on 27 June 1973) is a Spanish contemporary visual artist and art teacher.
EDUCATION
As a teenager she began studying drawing and sculpture at the Mateo Inurria and Dionisio Ortiz Art Schools in Cordoba. She studied Fine Arts at the Alonso Cano Faculty in Granada (Painting and Sculpture) and graduated in 1998 with honours. She studied bronze casting, painting techniques, life drawing and photography and obtained a scholarship for the 1st Marble Sculpture Course in Macael (Almeria).
Since 1999 she has been teaching sculpture, drawing and painting in different Art Schools (Ávila and Écija) and high schools in Andalusia, obtaining in 2008 the permanent position. She currently works at the Luis de Góngora Secondary School in Córdoba, where she teaches in the Baccalaureate of Arts for Adults.
ARTISTIC CAREER
Graduated in Plastic Arts, she is a painter and sculptor, by the University Alonso Cano of Granada. She has a long exhibition trajectory that started in Granada during her university studies and has had more than a hundred collective and individual exhibitions all over Spain and internationally, The recent exhibition at the Salon d’Art Contenporain Art 3F in Paris or the one held in 2012 at the Patio Barroco del Palacio de la Merced in Córdoba, which generated, among other results, the itinerancy of the collection with the Fundación de Artes Plásticas Rafael Botí throughout 2013, stand out. A collection dedicated to Al Ándalus in the heritage references of the Mosque and Madinat Al Zahra. From which one of the works “Palabras para entalabartar sueños”, representing the façade of Al Hakan II of the Mosque, was selected to be the image of Cordoba’s Heritage in 2013 at Fitur (Madrid).
In 2018 she presented her collection on Sephardic culture at the Visitor Centre in Córdoba, a collection that has also been taken to various places in Spain.
In 2015, as a result of a personal experience that would mark her life, she created Colores Para Alegrarte and altruistically decorated three children’s hospitals in order to humanise the stay of their users. The six floors of the Reina Sofía Children’s Hospital, the USMIJ of the Hospital de los Morales and the children’s emergency rooms of the Hospital de Puente Genil, managing more than 400 people and 20 companies. She was awarded the Bandera de Andalucía a la Salud (Andalusian Health Flag) in 2016.
In 2020 and in the midst of lockdown due to the world pandemic caused by Covid-19,he began another altruistic project, “Héroes con bata”, in which she joined 49 other artists in a common multidisciplinary exhibition tribute to the health workers of Cordoba. It was held at the Teatro Cómico Principal with more than 5000 visitors. It obtained the support of all the public and private health centres in Cordoba and the province and of several companies that collaborated altruistically, as well as the institutional support of the Cordoba City Council and the Department of Culture and Heritage of the Andalusian Regional Government with the cession of the space. In February 2021 she was awarded the Andalusian Flag for the Arts for curating and setting up this project. More than 20 years dedicated to the study of Historical and Cultural Heritage, in the pictorial representation of the artistic roots of Architecture, Art and Classical, Arab and Sephardic Cultures, through a very wide diversity of techniques.
In 2019 she begins to study the lives and faces of the great women who have changed history, crossed lives that come together in one image. Faces and trajectories that merge into one.
In 2022 she presents the collection called ‘Sororidad-Somos’ una in which she represents twenty-four women fused in twelve diptychs. Inaugurated in the Teatro Cómico Principal in her native city, Córdoba. In September of the same year part of the collection travelled to the Salon International d’art Contemporain Art 3f in Paris, in October he exhibited at the Michel Menendez Gallery in Pamplona and in November he returned to France to exhibit in Bordeaux. With a wide international recognition, her work has been published in prestigious art magazines such as California Art Magazine, Importan & Cool, OCBAl International Catalogue of Brazil or the book of Spanish Art among others. She has permanent exhibitions at Artemissa Art Gallery and 1819 Art Gallery in Madrid. She is also one of the artists selected to create the predictions of the NFTs in the Visions Prediction Card Collection. She is currently working on a new collection that unites her two passions, the historical and artistic monumental heritage and the lives of those women who have been forgotten by history, in this case the women of Al Ándalus.
In April 2023, he continues his tour of the most important capitals in Europe, taking his Sorority-We are one series to the central Friedrichstrße street in Berlin.
